1. Weathered breccia with epidote altered matrix
The below were found on the Molly Marie Prospect. (click any to enlarge)
2. Eroded beds of altered arkose result in epidote like this.....
6. Quartz replacing bladed calcite. A great indicator of epithermal gold.
4. Sinter-breccia from hot springs is found on top of arkose.
5. Quartz scepters in silicified basalt.
7. Calcite before UV light exposure.
8. Barbecue rock. Calcite after UV light exposure. Abundant near stock Contact.
9. Brecciated basalt cemented with quartz.

10. Adularia (Potassium feldspar) breccia cemented with first-stage quartz
11. Micro-veining in potassium feldspar. Found in a diatreme.
12. Intensely Silicified Basalt. This occurs over wide areas. Zooming reveals magnetite and epidote.
13. High silica rhyolite w/basalt clasts.
14. Hornblende, Amphibolite. See
#50 below.
15. Silicified basalt. voids are clear quartz over hematite(not voids)
16. Large quartz crystals are fairly common in Arkose areas.
17. Sericite schist. There are cobbles of Pinal Schist in the conglomerate which complicates.
18. Typical silicified, pyritized arkose. The pencil lead is .5 mm. Zoom and look about 3mm to left of lead to see just how tiny the drusy quartz is.....
19. Silica nodule related to sinter.
20. Epidote veinlet in arkose in a spider-web of chlorite and epidote.
21. A polished piece or silica sinter breccia.
22. Quartz Sericite schist found in large zones and is altered arkose.
23. Rhyodacite Porphyry from the center of the largest stock.
25. Porphyry from ring dike on east side of caldera. This is magnetic.
24. Boxwork structure from gossan shown in outcrops below. #42.
29. Blotchy jasperoid, permeable beds have coarser material.
30. Bedding looking towards the Superstition Mountains.
28. Aquifer-controlled, arkose-hosted jasperoid beds.
33. Epidote altered arkose of lower Whitetail; epidote alteration can be 10's of meters thick.
34.Potassium-Feldspar zone 7 meters wide.
37. Upper Whitetail formation partially transformed to Schist.
40. Dikelets in highly altered basalt.
63. Pyrite Zone, Original rock type was likely Rhyodacite. Related to hornfelsed area on north end of property.
31. Lower Whitetail assemblage with Jasperoid beds overlain by silicified upper Whitetail.
32. Silicified Upper Whitetail assemblage shown in 31; note limestone cobbles.
38. Upper Whitetail Brecciated and transformed to schist even further......
36. Veinlets in Granite ring dike on south edge of caldera.
39. Quartz-Sericite Schist. A long, wide zone that is heavily inundated jarosite. See 22.
35. Albite-muscovite altered granite 800 meters from porphyry stock. note de-stress fractures. Handle points to stock.
41. Basalt stained by veinlets.
42. Gossan vein in altered basalt. See 24.
65. Mineralization peeks out on northwest side of stock. Anomalous Gold is present here, and not one prospect pit.
26. Rhyodacite from west side of stock, enriched with biotite, The matrix is laden with micro-biotite giving a gray color. Zoom and compare to #23 above.
43. A Travertine/Tufa mound. They are numerous on the property. All Tufa is highly phosphorescent.
44. More Travertine/Tufa in the center of the property. Some seep all year.
45. An intrusive breccia dike, Rhyolite with silicified basalt clasts.
46. More intrusive breccia. The Rhyolite matrix here is porphyritic.
47. Quartz veinlets in silicified basalt. These occur over a large area.
48. Phreatic Breccia. Abundant jarosite here.
49. More phreatic breccia. This occurs over wide areas and carries gold....
50. Amphibolite. This is found on top of the arkose and is suspected to be remnants of hydrothermally altered basalt. See #14.
64. Silicified/pyritized zone next to Rhyodacite stock saturated with jarosite.
51. A fresh pit dug in mineralized basalt..
52. Some Lower basalt(Weekes Wash) is "evolved" into andesite.
53. Calcite veins abound in some areas. See #7.
54. a quartz vein cutting through phreatic breccia. Abundant drusy quartz.
56. Sericite Schist w/ minor quartz. Pieces of this schist litter the arkose areas. See #17.
57. Marble. This is at the edge of the basalt and on-dip with footwall of basalt. Do carbonate beds exist under the basalt? Many limestone boulders are found also, but this appears to be an intact bed.
58. Rhyolite fissure in center of cliff, note flow banding on u. rt. This is on strike with the Molly Marie and is near Gov. Well.
59. Rhyolite, same as 58 on backside looking toward edge of cliff.
61. Looking again at 2 hills of stock, towards S.E. The second hill is lower and to right. Note oxidized Rhyodacite.
60. Several hills define a Rhyodacite stock and this is one of them. Note quartz and limonite zone in foreground. Looking N.W.
62. Rhyodacite Stock with some oxidation removed.
27. Chlorite-Kaolinite alteration. A wide zone of propylitic alteration with chlorite occurs in the arkose. Some of the Chlorite may be altered Biotite.
66. In close proximity to the West side of the stock, this silicifed and pyritized zone is found.
67. There is not much exposed, but the far west side of the rhyodacite stock is hydrothermally altered beyond recognition w/veinlets.
68. In many areas, acidic fluids have turned basalt to clay; advanced argillic alteration.
69. On the the southern edge of the collapse caldera, granite has been totally replaced by silica in a zone over a 50 meters wide.
70. Brecciated basalt cemented with quartz. Found in large areas bordering gossan breccia.
71. Chrysocolla surrounding prospect pit in basalt. Chrysocolla is still on walls of pit.
